Letter from the New Editors-in-Chief

Discrete geometry and computational geometry are areas of active research that belong together, can benefit from intensified interaction, and need a common platform: This was the vision of Eli Goodman and Ricky Pollack in the mid-1980s, which led to the birth of Discrete & Computational Geometry. The journal they created in 1986 has documented, highlighted, and triggered many important breakthroughs in this field connecting mathematics with computer science. Eli and Ricky have shaped DCG for a quarter of a century, from volume 1 (1986) to volume 44 (2010). The journal has become inseparable from the field, and it has greatly influenced the work of at least two generations of researchers. It is a great honor and challenge for the three of us to take over the editorial responsibilities for DCG. As members of the Editorial Board, and János as a Co-Editorin-Chief for the last six years, we have learned from Eli and Ricky. We are grateful
